Happy Holidays: Mom Laura

Laura fWelcome to our family for the holidays.  We have two little girls who are so excited it’s December.  The excitement and energy run high in our house this time of year.  We hope you’ll join us virtually and feel at home, you are so welcome here.  We just put up the lights outside and we’re going to cut down the tree next weekend.

In our household, we drink lots of hot chocolate, listen to music and alter our wish list often.  We love to turn off the living room lights and look at the Christmas tree sparkle with all of its colorful lights.  We open advent calendars and generally count the days till Christmas.

The candy canes disappear quite quickly off the tree and some of the favorite ornaments are taken off the tree regularly.  Who can resist playing with ornaments that light up and make sound?  But really, when it comes down to it, we all really love being together and sharing each other’s joy and excitement.  I hope you’ll join us as we sing and dance around the living room with our favorite holiday tunes.  I assure you talent is not necessary.  Smiles and laughter make it the best part of the day.

I try to tell my girl’s everyday that they are beautiful and wonderful and that I love them exactly the way they are.  Sometime when I tell them they say it with me, or to me.  It is a sweet little ritual we have.  No matter how old you are you are someone’s child.  It breaks my heart that some children (no matter how big or small) don’t feel they are loved and accepted for who they are.  So from a mom, let me tell you that you are perfect exactly the way you are and you are loved just because you’re you.  It makes no difference to me if you are LGBTQ.  In fact, it takes a lot of courage to be different and show the world who you are.  I honor your courage to be you.  I offer you love and support as you walk your path.   May you feel the universe wrap you in love and peace this holiday season.
